Commission an artwork
“The painting not only portrays Rosa beautifully, but also touches her soul. She is with us again, in a way.” Monique about the portrait of her deceased dog Rosa.
Whether it’s a portrait or the painting of your dreams, I’ll create a custom drawing or painting especially for you.
In my commissioned portraits, I combine craftsmanship with establishing an energetic connection with the subject. This results in portraits that capture the essence with great expressive power.
A portrait of your pet, child, friend or family member
Does your pet hold a special place in your heart? I’ll lovingly draw or paint your pet just the way it is. With that specific, recognizable, and vibrant look in its eyes.
Would you like to have your loved one or family member’s portrait painted? I can also help you with this.
A portrait gift
Would you like to give this special gift to someone else? This is also an option. Together, we’ll surprise your loved one, family member, friend, or business associate with a unique, personalized gift. Please contact me in advance to discuss this, as I have a waiting list.
My portraits are located with private individuals and companies in Europe and the United States.
In memoriam
Sometimes an animal or person is no longer tangible. A portrait can offer comfort and a vivid memory, helping to process the loss and grief.
From experience, I know that good quality photos aren’t always available. With my expertise and years of experience, I’m able to adjust the light, composition, brightness, and color to create a beautiful portrait.

From idea to end result: the steps
Step one: Share your inspiration
Book your commission. You’ll receive a quote, and I’ll take a 30% deposit on the total price.
Check out the questions on the “Share inspiration for the commission” tab and gather your ideas and photos for the commission. The more details you share about your future artwork, the better.
Step two: The painting process
After the deposit has been paid, the work has been accepted for the commission calendar, and I have received the photos, I will create a simple concept sketch for the composition, shape, and proportions as the basis for the commission. I will email you a photo of this sketch so you can decide for yourself if it’s what you envision. If it’s a portrait, I prefer a close-up shot of the eyes and head from the chosen angle.
Commissions are usually completed within eight weeks. However, I prioritize quality over quantity, so delays are possible. Is the portrait a gift? Then order in time!
Step three: The finishing touch
During the final stages of the painting, I’ll take more photos and email them to you so we can discuss everything and see if any adjustments need to be made.
You’re welcome to visit my studio by appointment to admire the painting in person.
I’ll then finish the portrait and take more photos so you can see the final result.
If we’re both satisfied with the final result and the painting has cured properly, we’ll agree on a time for delivery or shipment. The remaining balance will be paid during or before this time.
Curing times vary depending on the pigments used and the thickness of the impasto brushstroke. If additional curing time is required, you’ll be notified by email.
The drawing or painting is delivered unframed.
Step four (optional for an oil painting): Varnishing
After 6 months, you are welcome to bring or ship the painting for a free varnish coat. This is not necessary; it gives the painting an extra layer of protection.
